Teacher Local Copy: Incident Controller Responsibilities Check Sheet - 1 page. Print out enough copies for your class groups who don't have access to a computer. This lesson is designed for students in Years 9 - 11 studying IT, Maths or Social Science. One lesson of 45 - 50 mins is required.
Students 1. Form a group of 3 – 4 students. 2. Create a spreadsheet to prioritise the actions of the Incident Controller from the initial responsibilities listed in the document. 3. As this document was created over 20 years ago, you are to add to these responsibilities – to upgrade it. Eg. drones are now used in most, if not all, incidents. What responsibilities would the Incident Controller have over the person in charge of drones? 4. The spreadsheet should indicate the 4 priority levels “Critical, High, Medium, Low Priority”. It should also indicate “Protocol” vs “Individual Response to Situation”. 5. Indicate the “new” responsibilities your group has thought up. 6. Share your responses with another group of students. Add or delete responses as your group sees fit.
