In groups of 6 students, you are going to investigate the following article using Edward de Bono's 6 Thinking Hats as a way of understanding the problem faced by all hospitals in Australia in July 2024. Look at this strategy and decide which "hat" each of you will take on. You will need to remain in this perspective for the whole of this activity.
2. Read the following article from The Conversation 29 July 2024.
3. There are various links within the article that you need to read and add to your learnings especially Why is Saline used instead of water for IV Fluids? under "Osmosis" link.
5. As a group, you are to continue in your roles
and together read the following article from 6. As part of your summation, does this article from the 19 August 2024 change any of your thinking? Who do you think should get these precious IV Fluids? Why? Why not?

Teacher You are going to use Vocabulary Bingo to see if your students know various surgical instruments and what vocabulary clues they used to match up the correct instrument with its description. Teacher - match ups
Student instructions - to be copied for groups of 2 - 5. You can also use this activity for individuals.
Students
1. Individually or in groups of 2 - 5 students, you are to match the name of the surgical instrument with its description. 2. You will be handed an Envelope A - with the
names of the surgical instruments and Envelope B with their functional
descriptions. Slow game
Fast game Put the 40 names and 40 surgical instrument descriptions in a pile. Match up as fast as possible.
3. How did you use the vocabulary clues to get the correct answer? Did you mix up a few instruments who had similar functions?
