You are to conduct a
Community of Inquiry using some articles from The Conversation. Read
the instructions for a Community of Inquiry before commencing this
activity. This activity is to promote higher order thinking and
providing reasons for any decisions.
You will need a double period for this activity. Students
1. Form a circle with all students and your teacher. You are going to undertake a Community of Inquiry. 2. Using stimulus material, read the story or text by taking turns to read out loud each paragraph. You may wish to take notes as this stimulus material is 4 articles. 3. Set up a Question Quadrant on the floor or on a whiteboard:

4. In pairs, you are to come up with 4 questions - one for each quadrant about the stimulus material. 5. List all the questions on the board from the 4th Quadrant "Questions for Thinking" and students put your names next to your question. 6. Students think about grouping the questions - the ones that are the same or similar - put them together. 7. The Teacher is to start the discussion with the most asked question. 8. You are to follow the rules of Philosophy in Schools:
