1. With a partner, spend a half an hour at a local park or creek and find as many insects as possible. Remember all insects have 6 legs.

2. Then classify them according to

  • wings/no wings
  • size
  • colour

3. Take a photo of each specimen. Compare your photos to other pair and their photos. Can you identify the same insects? Did you find any that were different?

4. Use the following resources to identify any insects you have found :
