1. Individually, look at the following art work dipicting some historical events. Choose one piece of art to explore further.
2. You need to analyse your art work to see: a. If the art work is faithfully representing the history b. What poetic licence has been taken by the artist and maybe the reasons why this is the case. c. Any controversies??? 3. Write up your analysis. You need to show your evidence to back up your reasoning.
4. Share with a partner. Discuss.

1. In groups of 3 - 4 students, read the following articles from The Conversation 23 October 2019 2. Dylan Alcott, Australian of the Year for 2022, said in his acceptance speech... "My advice is to you, non-disabled people. It's time for you to challenge your unconscious biases, leave your negative perceptions at the door and lift your expectations of what you think people with disability can do. Because it's always more than you think." (Source: ABC News 26 January 2022)
As a group, discuss your reactions to this part of Dylan's speech. 3. Studio A as described in The Conversation article needs support.
As a group, you are to select ONE artist from the list of artists. Read the biographies of your selected artists to help you decide on the one artist. You need to work out the reasons why you have selected your artist for support. 4. Once you have decided on your artist, you are to discuss as a group the kind of support you can provide this artist a. Sign up to recieve news and updates b. Ask your artist if you can use their art work around the school to promote their work. c. At a school assembly, promote your artist. Find out about them and create a video. d. At a school assembly, highlight Dylan Alcott's speech and ask if the school could donate $1 from each student to support Studio A. (It is tax deducible). e. A combination of any of the above. 5. Individually, you are to promote your artist to your friends and family on a. Facebook b. Instagram c. LinkedIn You are to discuss your reasons for selecting a particular artist and analyse ONE item in their collection. You are to also put forward several reasons why your friends and family might contribute to helping this artist.
