3. Are there any fonts you like best? Why?

4. Come up with an idea for drawing the letters of your first name using a surprising or unexpected element instead of using conventional letters. For instance, someone who likes animals might produce each letter as a different animal taking the shape of each letter.

5. The finished format works well on 12-by-18 in white paper using colored pencils.

6. Play with your name in Glitter Word Text Generator or Tagxedo

1. Look through magazines to find a full-page advertisement to work with and, using the elements in this professional ad--such as line, color, layout, logo and text.

2. Design an ad for a different product of your own invention.  Also include an advertising slogan. The finished project should be 230 x 305 mm [or 9-by-12 inches]. Media could include watercolors, colored pencils, computer images, markers and paints.

3. If you are into Fashion, then you might like to use Polyvore to create your own advertisement!

2. Select two that you like. Discuss the elements of each poster with your partner. Why do you like a particular poster? Do you both like similar posters? Why? Why not?

3. Select a current movie that you both like. Look at the advertising for this movie. What graphic design elements have been chosen for this movie.

Investigate the posters for this movie. Discuss together what you like about the design features.

4. You are both to create a new poster for this current movie using Edu Glogster.  

5. Share with each other and the class.

6. Reflection. What design elements did you concentrate on? Did you think you conveyed the meaning of the movie well?

2. You can pick your favourite artists to work with or make up a band or artist to feature on the Album cover.
